After four years of groundbreaking innovation, the CHAMPION Project (Circular High-performance Aza-Michael Polymers as Innovative Materials Originating from Nature) has come to a successful close. This Horizon 2020 BBI JU-funded initiative aimed to replace conventional materials with sustainable bio-based polymers, paving the way for a more eco-friendly future.
As a proud partner in this venture, Normec OWS focused on biodegradability and ecotoxicity testing, ensuring the environmental safety and sustainability of the developed materials. These high-performing bio-based polymers have applications in coatings, textiles, home care products, and adhesives, showcasing their versatility and potential to replace traditional materials.
We extend our gratitude to the University of York, our 14 partners from six European countries, and everyone who supported the project. The CHAMPION project’s success highlights the possibilities of sustainable innovation and serves as an inspiration for future advancements in the bio-based economy. The products developed during the project demonstrate the practical potential of bio-based solutions, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable materials.
