Normec OWS offers a wide range of analysis services on compost, fertilizers and other soil improvers. This enables industrial composting and fermentation plants to ensure that their products comply with laws and regulations. These analyses are carried out under strict quality controls.
Normec OWS offers the flexibility to perform compost analysis on individual parameters or on a larger scope of parameters, using a number of different techniques. Parameters include nitrogen or mercury content, or organic matter and carbon content. Examples of other parameters include the amount of germinative seeds, impurities, degree of acidity, or the density of a sample. Some analyses are done according to the CMA and BAM standards from Flanders, Belgium. For CMA we are recognized by OVAM, and for BAM we are recognized by VLM (Vlaamse Land Maatschappij).
Testing duration depends on the specific type of test and the product itself. This can range from a couple of weeks for material characteristics testing, to months or even years for biodegradation testing. As these are microbial processes, we cannot predict the exact duration beforehand.

Yes, we are recognized by DIN CERTCO in line with ISO 17025. This accreditation covers all test procedures and standards with regard to compostability and biodegradation. Additionally, we are ISO 17025 accredited by BELAC for our compost analyses and also recognized by TÜV Austria.
