Sustainability Assessments

At Normec OWS, we strive for the sustainable development of our own and other companies. We can support you by calculating the environmental impact of your processes and facilities from your representative data. Our sustainability assessments will enable you to improve and make a difference for your company, your customers, and the environment.

As part of our assessments, we offer Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and footprint (FP) impact calculations. These are done according to internationally accepted standards and methodologies, and using up-to-date databases. We map the potential impacts of your products and/or activities and where and how improvements can and should be made.

Our Sustainability Assessments division has over ten years’ experience in providing sustainability assessments for a wide range of products, services, and organizations, ranging from process analysis to biotechnology, from conceptual or lab-scale to pilot and full-scale production levels, and from linear to circular systems.

LCA and FP studies usually evaluate the entire product lifecycle: from the extraction of raw materials to manufacturing and assembly, transportation and distribution, use, and waste treatment, including the inputs, outputs, and emissions of every step. In some cases, however, the assessment of a partial life-cycle (gate-to-gate or cradle-to-gate) is more relevant.

Our studies provide insight into:

  • The total impact of your product or service – so you can establish its importance and compare it to that of alternative solutions.
  • The main causes or hotspots of the total impact – so you can understand your impact and know exactly where to focus to make a real difference.

We offer standardized and customized LCA and FP studies for internal or public use. All of our assessments are reviewed by at least one internal or external expert. LCA studies for internal use can be complemented with Life Cycle Costing (LCC) and a Social Life Cycle Assessment (s-LCA), ultimately creating a full Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment.
